CPO Pride Day

The Navy Chief Petty Officer is the middle manager and deck plate leader that fills the gap between E6 and officers. Created in 1893, the Navy Chief is recognized as an expert in all things pertaining to job and people. The level of responsibility and accountability bestowed upon the Navy Chief, coupled with a six weeklong initiation season that sets this group of leaders apart from their peers, is celebrated once per year with this Chief Petty Officer Pride Day event. San Diego’s Chief Petty Officer Pride Day is the first such event established that has been mirrored over the years in Hawaii, Washington, and Florida. In San Diego, once per year over 2800 gather to grow in their teamwork, network, and leadership skills that will enhance their success as a Navy Chief and in turn their individual command success.
